To provide certainty to councils, communities and potential candidates, the NSW Government has made the decision to postpone the September 2020 local government elections in the face of the COVID-19 crisis until September 2021.
The NSW Electoral Commission conducts local government elections and the following information will be updated closer to the date:

Tenterfield Shire comprises five (5) Wards, these being A, B, C, D & E Wards. Two councillors are elected per Ward.
Is Tenterfield Shire Council the contact for NSW Local Government elections?
Council is not the contact for NSW Local Government elections, it is the NSW Electoral Commission.
Who is the Returning Officer?
The Returning Officer will be appointed to conduct the Tenterfield Shire Council local government election as the election draws closer. Contact details will be provided on Council’s website once available.
