Visitors and residents of Tenterfield Shire will soon be welcomed to the Shire and Villages by new, bright, entry statement signage.
Grant funding has allowed Council to add a new look to the seven (7) entry points into the Shire.
In addition, signage for the villages of Drake, Torrington, Urbenville, Liston, Legume, Mingoola and Jennings has been developed in consultation with village residents to give entry statements for each village an individual flavour while maintaining the “look” of Tenterfield Shire.
“Council utilised funding from the NSW Government’s Drought Communities Programme Extension to design and manufacture the signs with the community provided an opportunity to comment”, Mayor Peter Petty said.
“The new signage on the major entry points into our Shire is attractive and highlight that Tenterfield Shire is the place to visit. The entry statements for our villages also invite visitors to stop in and take a look while ensuring that residents feel connected to the overall Shire community”, the Mayor added.
